Qigong
Wee Kong, Chee Hong? GeKong, Hong Gee?  Don't let the pronunciation make you shy away from trying it.  It is pronounced "Chee Gong".  Simple yes?  So are the exercises and so is the purpose behind them.  The Spring Forest method of Qigong is a slow moving, stretching, breathing and meditative exercise.

Where else can you in one hour do gentle stretching, meditate, increase your energy and relax all at the same time?  Tired of spending your money on medications that don't work?  Try Qigong.  Have aches and pains that never go away?  Have no energy or fade having your head hit the desk by three o'clock in the afternoon?  Try Qigong. Want to lose weight and have tried every diet known to man?  Qigong is fat free and you will feel so much better after only one time.  Facing a possible surgery if you don't stop your stress, lose weight and change your eating habits?  Then Qigong might be for you.

No expensive equipment or special clothing is required and no extreme postures.  If you can't stand for the full hour then you can sit for some or all of it.  Can't raise your hand above your head?  No problem. Just raise it as far as you can. Exhausted after a day at work?  Then  you can come and just sit in a loving and calm atmosphere and be revived.  Who knows? Maybe you will have enough energy to participate next time.

Spring Forest Qigong has been used at the Mayo Clinic as well as the University of Minnesota.  You may check out the clinical studies at www.springforest.com and go to the tab entitled "Medical Studies".
