Outreach Care Team Meeting

Sunday September 16 immediately following service
Salad lunch provided

This meeting is for all who are interested in remaining on this valuable team and all those interested in becoming a part of this team.

The Outreach Care Team (OCT) at Unity of Fayetteville provides volunteer Sacred Service by pledging to our members to do our best to care for one another especially in our times of challenge.

Our OCT exists to provide spiritually uplifting support, compassionate listening and appropriate actions in times of need for our members and congregants.
  • An OCT member may provide meals and rides to members in need of short-term assistance, host receptions following memorial services, make hospital visitations, send flowers and write cards to the people we are holding in prayer.
  • OCT members strive to cultivate the resilience needed to live balanced spiritual lives by supporting each other in times of struggle and sorrow, as well as by celebrating major milestones such as new babies and weddings.
  • An OCT member strives to be a compassionate listener and a sensitive person who honors confidentiality
  • An OCT member serves the person in challenge and does not seek an audience for her/his own personal challenges.
  • An OCT member does not pass judgment on the person experiencing challenge.
  • An OCT member listens with empathy and does not try to offer solutions to the challenged person’s problems.
  • An OCT member is not a counselor, but does keep his/her ears open for bigger issues and refers these to the Outreach Care Team Facilitator.
  • An OCT member checks in with the person in challenge only for as long as the minister and/or team deem it is required.
If this sounds like something you are willing and able to do please join us.
Sweet Blessing,
Rev. Annette
