Peace Begins with Me

Many times over the years I've heard Unity of Fayetteville referred to as "the Hippy Church,"  (I suppose I have some small part to play in that due to my preference for tie dye goddess wear from Norma Judah's "Art to Wear.")  And, I can report today that the reputation doesn't bother me anymore.  Opinions aren't as meaningful to me these days, and anyway, when I think of "Hippy" immediately I think of Peace and I smile.

In the Reveling Word, Charles Fillmore wrote that Peacemakers are the ones who have the ability to say "peace" to the turbulent waves of thought and have them obey.  I've also heard or read that "Peace is not what you do, it is who you BE".  And also, "Be the Peace you want to see in the world".  Not to forget, "Peace begins with me."

In the Metaphysical Bible Dictionary the city of Jerusalem is the city of Peace.  However when Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem the last thing the city portrayed was Peace.  As he rode in on that little donkey don't you think he must have had a sharpened ability to "say peace to the turbulent waves of thought and have them obey?"  How else could he have been known as the Prince of Peace?

This second week of Advent can be your personal journey into BEING Peace and to awaken to your Christed Self.  You don't have to wait to Christmas morning to be the Christ, you can be Christ now.

Please join me this Sunday morning so we can be the expression of Peace together and give a Christmas gift to the world.  Through a ceremony of peace prayers, we will collectively and powerfully send Peace, Love and Blessings to faith traditions around the globe... Merry almost Christmas.

Lovenough, katherine
